In this activity, you will use the Delta College online research tools, called Online Databases.

The Online Databases allows a student to research professional  journals, newspapers, magazines, and other information sources. It also has books and articles in text format that can be immediately read with a screen reader.

For this activity, we will use the Newspapers section of the Online Databases:

To get to the Online Database:

1. Go to the Delta College homepage and click on the Library link.
2. Next, click on the Online Database link.
3. Next, click on the NewsBank America's Newspapers link in the Newspapers section.
4. Click on the California newspapers.
5. And then, go down to the Sacramento Bee link and select it.

Now, you are ready to search the archives of the Sacramento Bee for some information. We want you to answer the following question:

What did Stevie Wonder do for the boy living in Elk Grove for his 16th birthday this year?

In the text field for All Text information type in "echo location blind." This refers to the young man who was interviewed on the Oprah show. He is blind and navigates by making clicking sounds. He is able to navigate without a cane and can ride a skate board with this technique.

You will find a number of articles with this search. Find the name of the young man. Go back to the Sacramento Bee search page by pressing the Backspace button on your keyboard. Now enter the young man's name in the text field.

Navigate down the results until you find the article on his 16th birthday. Find out what Stevie Wonder did.

Write up your findings in your Word document.
