Pictures, Images, Graphics, and Clip Art

Images can be inserted into your documents in several ways:

Copy/Paste

Menu Bar > Insert > Picture >

There are two types of pictures that can be inserted through the menu bar;

Clip Art and an image document:

Clip Art:

Graphic images, designs, and artwork in digital form that can be copied and pasted into a digital document or image. Clip art can be obtained on diskette, CD-ROM, or as a download from the Web with pricing that ranges from free to pay.

To get to Clip Art images to paste into your Word document:

  1. Click on the Insert option in the Menu selection.
  2. Go down to Picture and press Enter or Right Arrow.
  3. Select Clip Art.
  4. Enter the type of image that you want in the Search For text box; such as water falls.
  5. Press the Go button.
  6. Select the image that you want in your document.

Image Document

An image that you have created yourself, from a photograph, or copied from somewhere else is called an image document because it is
saved as an image file. Common image documents are in jpg, gif, or tif formats. You can insert an image document by:

  1. Click on the Insert option in the Menu selection.
  2. Go down to Picture and press Enter or Right Arrow.
  3. Select the File option.
  4. Navigate to the image that you want to insert.
  5. Select the image and press Enter.
