PREPARATION:

1. In large mixing bowl cream butter and sugars until light.
2. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
3. Sift together the flour, salt baking powder, and soda.
4. Stir into the first mixture, blending well.
5. Stir in chocolate chips.
6. Shape into balls about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
7. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are light brown.
8. Makes about 4 to 5 dozen cookies.
